What you’ll achieve
As Senior System and DevOps Engineer, you will join a small, dedicated team running the full infrastructure lifecycle of PACSonWEB, a medical imaging platform serving hospitals worldwide. You will work across on-premises hardware, private cloud, and AWS on a platform where availability directly affects patient care. Your decisions matter, your impact is visible, and there is real engineering work ahead. If you want variety and meaningful work in a critical domain, this is the role for you. You will:
- Design, deploy, and continuously improve infrastructure across colocation, private cloud, and AWS environments worldwide
- Manage and optimise Windows Server environments, virtualisation (Hyper-V), server hardware, storage, and backup and recovery
- Contribute to automation efforts to reduce repetitive work and improve reliability
- Maintain runbooks and technical documentation so the team's operational knowledge stays up to date
- Work closely with R&D, Product, and operational teams to plan and deliver controlled infrastructure changes
- Respond to incidents when they occur: root-cause analysis, resolution, and post-mortems in a regulated medical device environment

Essential Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in CloudOps, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering
- Good knowledge of server hardware
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPN, load balancers, switches
- Strong Windows Server administration skills; Linux experience an advantage
- Experience managing relational databases (installation, configuration, backup and restore, monitoring, ...)
- Experience with Hyper-V or similar on-premises virtualisation
- Fluent in English (written and spoken): clear communication across distributed, cross-functional teams
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
Desirable Requirements
- Experience operating in a regulated environment (medical device, financial services, or equivalent): change management, audit trails, compliance-by-design
- Experience with AWS (compute, networking, IAM, RDS, and monitoring)
- Scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell, Python) for operational automation, diagnostics, and integration workflows
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Zabbix, InfluxDB, Grafana)
- Experience with deployment automation tools (e.g. Octopus Deploy)
