This is a hands-on role in a busy warehouse environment, requiring you to be on your feet for most of the day. Manual handling, operating warehouse equipment (where authorised), and occasional overtime during busy periods will be required.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervising the daily running of the warehouse to ensure all goods are received, stored and dispatched efficiently.
- Leading and motivating a warehouse team to achieve productivity and service targets.
- Planning workloads and allocating duties to ensure customer deadlines are consistently met.
- Monitoring stock levels and carrying out regular inventory checks to maintain excellent stock accuracy.
- Investigating stock variances and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Working closely with transport, logistics and customer service teams to coordinate deliveries and collections.
- Ensuring all warehouse procedures are followed in line with company policies and health & safety legislation.
- Monitoring team performance, providing coaching and supporting staff development.
- Producing accurate warehouse records and ensuring system updates are completed correctly.
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying ways to increase efficiency, improve workflow and maximise warehouse space.
- Ensuring warehouse equipment is used safely and maintained correctly.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience leading or supervising a warehouse team.
- Strong understanding of stock control and warehouse operations.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- A valid Forklift Truck licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who is:
- A confident leader with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive problem solver with strong decision-making skills.
- A clear communicator who can build positive working relationships across departments.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
What's in it for You?
- Competitive hourly pay of £14.42 - £16.35 per hour.
- Monday to Friday working hours - no regular weekend work.
- Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career prospects.
- Supportive management team.
- Opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business.
- Immediate start available for the right candidate.
