Description
Assists the Communications & Engagement team with community outreach and education programs.
Assists the team with the preparation and presentation of the EAA's community outreach and education programs. Assists with the promotion of public awareness of and support for the EAA by assisting with the distribution of educational/promotional materials. Assists with community outreach and education activities, such as community events, scouting programs, teacher workshops, and other events that serve to generate awareness of the aquifer. Assists with special projects to promote public awareness of and support for the EAA and its programs. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Must be currently enrolled as a student in a college or university with a minimum of 60 hours of college coursework and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Relevant college coursework in communication, journalism, or marketing preferred. Strong computer skills. Ability to work effectively with staff. Ability to exercise good judgment and responsibility.
Job performance may require: listening, seeing, sitting, talking; occasional reaching, grasping, lifting, handling, pulling or pushing; balancing and carrying of items such as boxes of materials, books, etc. with weights not exceeding 25 pounds; limited walking, standing, stooping, and bending; some irregular hours and long workdays and moderate levels of stress. Job is performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent trips to other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
