Description

About the Job

As an RF Component Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing 5G  RFIC component-level verification test cases, as well as setting up, maintaining, and continuously improving the verification and test toolchain for Bridgecom’s RF ICs. This role emphasizes hands-on RF measurements of receiver and transmitter chains and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to establish aligned workflows, consistent data structures, and robust methodologies.

Your Responsibilities

This role covers a broad range of responsibilities, which will be prioritized based on project and company needs:

  • Develop and execute RF verification test cases using standard RF measurement equipment to ensure specification compliance.
  • Perform hands-on measurements of RF receiver and transmitter chains, including gain, noise figure, linearity, and output power.
  • Enable a high degree of test automation from component to system level.
  • Raise and track issues in Bugzilla, supporting system and design engineers in root-cause analysis.
  • Facilitate test progress tracking by synchronizing simulation results with Bridgecom’s test management tools, enabling efficient spec vs. sim vs. measurement analysis.
  • Provide scripting and tool maintenance support for Bridgecom’s RF System Verification & Test Tool used for verification, calibration, and production testing.
  • Support and maintain the RFIC Component Verification Tool (developed in Python) for (sub-)component and module-level verification.
  • Ensure consistency and traceability of test cases with the requirements database (Jama) using Req-IDs, Spec-IDs, and Testcase-IDs.
  • Create measurement reports and interpret results, including generating pass/fail verdicts based on specification compliance and test outcomes.

Your Profile

  • Hands-on lab measurement experience in RF verification across various levels, from post-silicon to test engineering.
  • Strong expertise in RF receiver and transmitter chains, with a deep understanding of underlying physical effects—enabling accurate generation and interpretation of measurement results.
  • Familiarity with RF requirements engineering, RFIC design, and RF/HW component-level verification principles.
  • Extensive experience in software development and scripting (preferably in Python).
  • Proficiency with issue tracking systems, requirements management, and test management tools.
  • Experience with 5G standards is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Preferably 2-5 years of work experience in RF component verification environment.

Our Offer

  • Work in our brand-new office with an advanced RF lab at Tabakfabrik (Quadrill) in Linz.
  • The opportunity to work on next-generation 5G RF semiconductor technologies tailored IoT and automotive markets.
  • A dynamic environment where engineers get the full picture of a product development cycle, not just execute isolated tasks.
  • An inclusive and diverse team in a thriving tech startup setting.
  • Individual growth opportunities in a growth company.
  • Continuous learning through collaboration with senior engineers and hands-on exposure across multiple areas of semiconductor development.
