Description
Réalta Technologies are looking for a Validation Support Engineer to join our team and support a leading pharmaceutical company based in Cork.
This is a hands-on support role focused on validated laboratory instruments and computerised systems across Quality Control laboratories and manufacturing operations. You will support system issues, user accounts, security patching, data backups, documentation and validation testing. The position would suit someone with experience in IT support, laboratory systems, computer system validation or application support who is interested in working within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for validated laboratory instruments and computerised systems.
- Log and manage support requests through ServiceNow.
- Investigate system issues and work with internal teams and equipment vendors to resolve them.
- Manage user accounts, access requests and password resets.
- Monitor data backups and support data archival activities.
- Coordinate security patches and software updates.
- Maintain system records, CMDB information and validation documentation.
- Execute test scripts and document results against predefined acceptance criteria.
- Support system changes, upgrades and improvement projects.
- Ensure activities are completed in line with GMP, data integrity and safety requirements.
Experience and Skills
- 3+ years experience in either IT support, application support, validation, laboratory systems or a related technical role.
- Experience with Windows 10 or Windows 11 environments is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple support requests and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Comfortable working with laboratory, manufacturing, IT and external vendor teams.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical, life sciences or other regulated environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Knowledge of GMP, ALCOA+, cybersecurity or 21 CFR Part 11 would also be an advantage.
