Description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking two Due Diligence Consultants to support Financial Crimes Operations Transactional Risk and Intelligence Group (TRIG) functions within Chief Operating Office (COO). This role is responsible for performing transaction-based customer profile reviews related to complex and elevated risk profiles to generate actionable recommendations to line of business risk management teams. In this role, you will:

  • Aggregate, evaluate and report results and escalate where necessary
    • Document and clearly communicate review results and recommendations
    • Maintain accurate, organized records of analyses, findings, and decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve business objectives
    • Communicate findings and provide clear direction to internal business partners
    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address risks and support decision-making
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and identify risk mitigation opportunities
    • Analyze customer transactions, behaviors, and demographics to identify heightened risk indicators
    • Perform research on complex client profiles, including emerging risks and typologies
    • Utilize large datasets (for example, Excel) to analyze transactional, geographic, and relational data
  • Consult and provide support to interpret policies, guidelines and governance programs
    • Provide guidance to business partners on policy interpretation and risk application
    • Support moderately complex initiatives and projects related to due diligence processes
  • Evaluate departmental processes and recommend improvements
    • Assess challenges and identify process improvement opportunities
    • Partner with TRIG leadership to implement process enhancements
    • Recommend updates to money laundering/terrorist financing (ML/TF) typologies based on observed trends and risks
  • Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
    • Apply risk-based decision-making to evaluate and resolve due diligence cases
  • Present risk-based recommendations and support escalation decisions
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify clients requiring escalation
    • Develop expertise in due diligence policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
    • Evaluate money laundering/terrorist financing (ML/TF) and operational risks to determine appropriate escalation and recommendations in collaboration with leadership
  • Support business in execution of due diligence controls, reporting, and regulatory requirements
    • Accurately complete required TRIG processes and documentation
    • Develop and apply risk-based review strategies targeting specific typologies and exposure areas
    • Document clear, well-supported risk assessments and dispositions to inform business decisions
    • File unusual activity reports in a timely manner
    • Review of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) history to inform risk assessments and recommendations


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Due Diligence experience, or equivalent (including risk management, client service, operations support, or business process management) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Process efficiency expertise including assessment and recommendations for improvement
  • Experience in evaluating risks including communicating relevant findings in a concise, decisive, timely, and market-appropriate manner
  • Experienced with Anti-Money Laundering, financial crimes analysis, and fraud investigations including filing and/or reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
  • Experienced with Wells Fargo Transactional Risk and Intelligence Group (TRIG) including Event-Driven Review analysis processes and procedures
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams) skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint to effectively manage extremely large and complex sets of transactional data
  • Working knowledge of risk and regulatory disciplines Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) programs such as Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Know Your Customer (KYC)
  • Working knowledge of products, systems, and tools such as Automated Clearing House (ACH), cash vault, check products, Cornerstone, Hogan, Online Image Browser (OIB), Unusual Activity Report (UAR) Portal, Wholesale Customer Information System (WCIS), and wires
  • Analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound independent judgment, anticipate risks and opportunities to drive strategic and tactical initiatives, and make timely, data-driven decisions
  • Organized with multitasking skills thriving in fast-paced environments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards
  • Experienced in collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust, foster teamwork, influencing outcomes, synthesize complex data and communicate information clearly to identify key risks, customer impacts, and financial implications with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt within an operations environment
  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders while leading meetings and delivering communications and presentations
  • Demonstrated professionalism and integrity when partnering across all organizational levels, including executive leadership
  • Experienced in driving organizational change and delivering measurable, results-oriented outcomes
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Wells Fargo Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Sanctions Credential Program, etc.


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • Ability to work additional hours, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • Adhere to standards outlined with written policy as well as applicable State and Federal regulations
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$60,000.00 - $91,000.00
