The Facilities Compliance Associate is responsible for the planning, implementation, and auditing of occupational safety and health administration programs. In this role, you will manage the Regulatory Liaison Program pertaining to assigned facilities and additional auditing requirements. Our Regulatory Compliance team performs Environment Care and Life Safety audits throughout the enterprise. A caregiver in this position works days Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and high loss potential incidents.
  • Assist with mock surveys and life safety assessments of the physical environment and review inspection, testing, and maintenance documentation for regulatory compliance according to TJC, CMS, and other authorities having jurisdiction for national and international Cleveland Clinic locations.
  • Assist with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) surveys for the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise.
  • Perform Continuous Readiness Rounds as applicable and submit data in a timely manner.
  • Perform Physician Integration surveys as applicable and submit data in a timely manner.
  • Assist with special projects and other scope of work surveys as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance audits of work orders, participate in root cause analyses, corrective action identification, and prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Facilitate classroom and one-on-one or small group training of various Life Safety and Environment of Care topics.
  • Facilities Compliance Liaison to assigned healthcare facility which helps the Facility Management to comply with a standardized compliance program.
  • Review and monitors adherence to Human Resources polices and corporate compliance procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science, engineering, business, safety, or other applicable field 
  • 2 years of experience within one or more regulatory oversight fields including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, Fire and Life Safety, Infection Prevention, or other similar area 
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) OR Certified Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) required within 2 years of hire
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, passport, and be able to travel to local, national, and international Cleveland Clinic facilities 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Proficient data and computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook Access, PowerPoint) 
  • Flexibility to travel to different locations within Ohio or out-of-state
