Rockfon, a division of ROCKWOOL Group is seeking a talented, energetic student to join Marketing & Business Development Team in our Chicago location as a Paint and Coating Intern. This is a full-time, onsite internship with a 12-month duration.

What you will be doing:

This is a support role to help deliver our ever growing need to train and educate key contractors in the use of our premium ceiling solution – Mono Acoustic and be based in our Chicago facility, as part of our Rockfon Product Management team.   This position will report to the Head of Product Management and may require occasional travel and will also be expected to support the wider product management function as required.

  • Support hands-on training sessions for new and existing Mono Acoustic installers, following our established Certified Installer training program.

  • Learn the complete Mono Acoustic installation process and become a technical resource for contractors and internal teams.

  • Provide on-site technical support and installation guidance to ceiling contractors.

  • Prepare product samples and mock-ups for the sales team and certified installers.

  • Assist the Product Manager in developing training materials, installation guides, and other technical support resources.

  • Help maintain and continuously improve training processes, documentation, and best practices.

  • Build strong relationships with contractors by providing exceptional technical support and customer service.

At the end of your assignment, you will have the opportunity to share information about your experience with other students and with ROCKWOOL management.

What you bring:

  • Recent graduate or 0–1 year of experience in industrial painting, coating systems, construction, interior finishing, or a related field.

  • Education or training in industrial & coating painting, construction technology, building materials, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Experience or education in finished painting and spray application systems is considered an asset; however, comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.

  • A genuine interest in learning new technical skills and becoming a product expert.

  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to train and support customers in both classroom and field environments.

  • A proactive attitude with a desire to continuously improve processes and contribute to team success.

  • Comfortable working in both office and construction site environments.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM software.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

The hourly pay rate for this position is between the range $22-$25. Compensation is determined based on the student’s academic program, year of study, relevant work experience, job responsibilities, and work location.
