Job Description:

Summary:

Kogod Operations Assistants report to Student Operations Leads, the Operations Coordinator, and the Associate Director of Kogod Facilities and Operations. Operations Assistants work 3 to 4 hour shifts Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00pm performing administrative and customer service duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Staffing the Kogod welcome desk.

  • Reserving breakout rooms for students and TA's.

  • Stocking the Kogod kitchen.

  • Sorting and distributing mail.

  • Executing print/copy jobs for faculty and staff.

  • Running campus errands.

  • Delivering packages and oversized mail to faculty and staff offices.

  • Posting event and room signage.

  • Filling copy machines throughout the building with paper.

  • Setup and teardown for events – including furniture moves.

  • Emailing faculty and staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-time

  • Up to 15 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $19.00 - $19.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled student at American University.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Show up on time for shifts, and communicating absences well in advance.

  • Present a professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Promote a friendly and respectful team atmosphere.

  • Willingness and ability to lift 25 lbs.
