🌍 Hiring: Grants Financial Specialist II (Africa) | Remote Flexibility | 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract

Compassion International is seeking a Grants Financial Specialist II to support U.S. Government grant acquisition and financial management for donor-funded programs across Africa.

 

📍 Location: Must reside in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, or Zambia
🏠 Work Arrangement: Remote within eligible countries with occasional travel (up to 10%)
📅 Contract Type: 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract (with possible renewal)

 

💼 What You'll Do

  • Develop budgets and budget justifications/narratives for U.S. Government grant acquisition efforts and other institutional donors.
  • Support financial management across the grant lifecycle, from proposal development through grant closeout.
  • Prepare donor-compliant financial reports and conduct budget variance analysis.
  • Monitor expenditures, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Support donor and procurement audits, including Single Audits.
  • Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
  • Partner with finance, program, legal, compliance, and field teams across multiple countries.

 

✅ What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in grants finance, donor compliance, or financial management.
  • Experience with donor-funded grants, preferably within an NGO or international development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing budgets and budget narratives for U.S. Government grants.
  • Strong working knowledge of 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and experience working with UN and other institutional donors.
  • Experience supporting or managing Single Audits for U.S. Government-funded programs.
  • Excellent budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a team-player mindset.
