Distribution Center Planner
About the Role
Hultec is seeking a Distribution Center Planner to support the planning, coordination, and execution of freight, inventory, and merchandise flow through our distribution center. This role plays a key part in improving logistics efficiency, maintaining service levels, and ensuring products are available where and when they're needed. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, carriers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to help optimize distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound freight for the distribution center
- Develop and maintain shipment schedules to support on-time delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with merchandise allocation and replenishment
- Contact customers and internal departments to add or adjust merchandise as needed for logistics purposes
- Negotiate freight arrangements and carrier support to improve efficiency and reduce cost
- Work closely with warehouse, transportation, sales, and customer service teams
- Track shipment progress and resolve delivery or planning issues
- Maintain accurate records in planning, ERP, or warehouse systems
- Support continuous improvement in distribution and transportation processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, shipping requirements, and safety standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, or supply chain planning
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with customers, carriers, and internal operations teams
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/WMS systems preferred
- Knowledge of freight coordination, inventory flow, and distribution operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Familiarity with load planning, freight negotiation, and shipment scheduling
- Background in customer-facing logistics or supply chain support
