Project Overview

The Intern – TB Research & Partnerships will support PATH’s tuberculosis and communicable disease portfolio through research, knowledge management, technical documentation, stakeholder mapping, and partnership intelligence activities. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical exposure to public health programs, implementation research, health systems strengthening, policy analysis, donor landscaping, and collaborative partnerships that support TB elimination efforts.

The intern will contribute to evidence synthesis, documentation of program learnings, stakeholder and donor landscape assessments, and development of knowledge products that inform strategic decision-making. The role may also support documentation and learning activities related to PATH-supported TB programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct desk research, literature reviews, and evidence scans on topics related to TB, communicable diseases, health systems, digital health, active case finding, preventive care, community engagement, and public-private-community partnerships.
• Support the synthesis of research findings into concise summaries, presentations, evidence briefs, and background notes.
• Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting manuscripts, reports, concept notes, proposals, technical briefs, case studies, and other knowledge products.
• Contribute to documentation of program learnings, implementation experiences, and best practices from PATH-supported TB initiatives.
• Support stakeholder mapping and profiling across government agencies, donors, technical partners, civil society organizations, academic institutions, private sector actors, professional associations, and development partners.
• Assist in donor and partnership landscape analyses to identify potential collaboration opportunities relevant to TB and health systems priorities.
• Prepare meeting briefs, discussion notes, speaking points, briefing materials, presentations, and slide decks for internal and external engagements.
• Support coordination of information collection from program teams, technical experts, and partner organizations for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Assist with data collation, organization, and synthesis from secondary sources for research reports, publications, proposals, and dissemination materials.
• Support manuscript development processes, including reference management, literature organization, and editing support.
• Contribute to maintaining organized repositories of knowledge products, reference materials, and partnership intelligence resources.
• Participate in team discussions, learning sessions, and project review meetings as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recently completed or currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biotechnology, Public Health, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Development Studies, Health Policy, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in tuberculosis, communicable diseases, health systems strengthening, health equity, or public health programming.
• Exposure to academic research, public health projects, internships, fellowships, volunteer initiatives, or university-based research activities.
• Familiarity with literature reviews, evidence synthesis, policy analysis, scientific writing, or technical documentation. These capabilities are reflected in the candidate profile inputs derived from the CV, including research exposure, literature reviews, policy analysis, proposal writing, and science communication experience.
• Interest in digital health, implementation science, monitoring and evaluation, or health innovation. Relevant exposure is demonstrated through digital health and M&E training highlighted in the candidate profile inputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and online collaboration tools.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
