We are seeking an experienced Architectural Sign Detailer specializing in illuminated signage to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the sign industry and can translate approved designs into accurate, fabrication-ready drawings.

From illuminated channel letters and custom wall signs to monument signs, sign cabinets, and architectural signage packages, you will help turn design concepts into buildable solutions. The ideal candidate understands how illuminated signage is designed, fabricated, wired, mounted, and installed—and can anticipate technical challenges before they reach production.

Proven illuminated signage detailing experience is required. We are looking for a sign industry professional with strong technical drafting skills, an understanding of architectural plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with designers, project managers, fabricators, and installers.

What You'll Do

• Create detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings for architectural and commercial signage.

• Detail illuminated channel letters, front-lit and halo-lit signs, illuminated cabinets, raceways, monument signs, pylon signs, wall signs, projecting signs, and custom signage.

• Translate approved designs, vector artwork, architectural plans, field measurements, and project specifications into accurate production drawings.

• Specify dimensions, materials, finishes, mounting methods, construction details, and installation requirements.

• Coordinate LED modules, power supplies, electrical access, illumination methods, and other technical requirements.

• Identify potential fabrication, electrical, mounting, and installation conflicts before drawings are released for production.

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, architects, engineers, fabricators, and installers to resolve technical questions and incorporate revisions.

• Review drawings for accuracy and completeness while maintaining organized project files and revision records.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in architectural signage detailing, sign manufacturing, or a closely related sign industry role.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience detailing illuminated signage and producing fabrication-ready shop drawings.

• Strong understanding of channel letters, illuminated cabinets, raceways, LED lighting, power supplies, mounting systems, and sign construction.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable CAD drafting software.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, site plans, construction documents, and project specifications.

• Working knowledge of sign fabrication methods, materials, finishes, and installation requirements.

• Strong attention to detail, technical problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and meet deadlines while collaborating with internal and external teams.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with multifamily, commercial real estate, hospitality, or large-scale architectural signage programs.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for reviewing vector artwork and coordinating signage graphics.

• Familiarity with sign permitting, local sign codes, UL-listed sign components, electrical standards, and coordination with structural or electrical engineers.
