Description

Our client, an established hospitality business, is seeking a Junior F&B Duty Manager to support the daily operation of its food and beverage department.

The successful candidate will assist with supervising service delivery, coordinating team members and ensuring that guests receive professional, efficient and attentive service. This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone with food and beverage experience who is ready to take the next step into junior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operation of the food and beverage department.
  • Coordinate staff duties and ensure adequate coverage during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor service standards and support the team during busy service periods.
  • Ensure guests receive friendly, professional and efficient service.
  • Respond promptly to guest enquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Support the opening and closing of assigned food and beverage areas.
  • Assist with staff briefings, task allocation and shift handovers.
  • Monitor compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist with stock control, stock counts and the monitoring of wastage.
  • Support cash-up procedures and ensure transactions are processed correctly.
  • Liaise with the kitchen and other operational departments to support smooth service delivery.
  • Assist with the training and development of food and beverage team members.
  • Report maintenance concerns, operational issues and incidents to senior management.
  • Complete relevant operational records and shift reports.
  • Perform other reasonable duties associated with the effective operation of the department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous food and beverage experience within a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
  • Basic understanding of stock control, cash handling and point-of-sale procedures.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Advantageous Experience

  • Previous supervisory, team leader or shift-leading experience.
  • A hospitality or food and beverage qualification.
