Electrical Assembly Assessment Test is required at time of interview.
The Electro/Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting electrical and mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This position requires the ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and electrical testing equipment while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to blueprints, schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
- Install wiring, connectors, switches, and other electrical components.
- Perform mechanical assembly using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of assemblies to ensure proper operation.
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Identify and report product defects, equipment malfunctions, or process issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Assist with inventory management and material handling as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training in electronics, electrical systems, mechanical assembly, or related field required.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience required.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams is a requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to distinguish colors for wiring and component identification when required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing and production environment.
- Exposure to moving machinery, tools, and production equipment.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Overtime and flexible scheduling may be required based on production demands.
