What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the development of comprehensive product and community strategies, ensuring alignment and commitment to these strategies among internal teams and external partners; oversee the effective execution of strategic initiatives to meet business objectives and solve marketing problems
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the assigned vehicle(s), providing deep insights and authoritative guidance on product positioning, competitive differentiation, and market trends to influence strategic decisions
- Orchestrate integrated marketing communications rooted in strategy across advertising, production, traditional media, social media, digital marketing, content marketing, lead generation, reporting, and measurement
- Define target customer by conducting and coordinating analytical research and applying findings to create tailored tactics and strategies that communicate clear and compelling brand messaging
- Interface with agency teams and lead project management oversight for campaign and creative asset development, ensuring process milestones and budget requirements are achieved while finding additional production cost saving opportunities
- Maintain continuous, 360-degree understanding of product features, specifications, customers, competitors, Communities, communication targets, and segment dynamics and apply this knowledge to all marketing project decisions
- Integrate user research, market analysis, and inter-departmental feedback into product requirements to ensure products meet customer needs
- Develop and manage detailed, product specifications documents used in the development of consumer facing collateral materials, digital assets, quick reference guides, and training materials
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support team objectives to include pricing, sales performance, and ROI analyses
- Manage vehicle prototypes, fleet, and requests on an ongoing basis
- Build strong relationships and collaborate across teams to establish credibility, navigate complex projects, and execute product and Community strategies to achieve business goals
- Lead product launch, sustain, and lifecycle management support across customer and Community touchpoints working closely with internal stakeholders
- Utilize advanced analytical skills to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to create compelling stories that drive strategic marketing decisions and continuous process improvements
- Represent the team in key meetings, discussions, and events, effectively communicating objectives, updates, and feedback to stakeholders and leadership as the go-to expert on vehicle strategy
- Proactively identify opportunities and take initiative to drive improvements, solve problems, and contribute to team success
- Build cross-divisional relationships to deepen understanding of operations and foster collaboration in achieving shared departmental goals
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
- Experience in product marketing, product development, PR, consumer insights, corporate planning, advertising, sales, and/or pricing with a strong emphasis on strategy development and execution
- In-depth understanding of automotive landscapes, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles
- Understanding of overall Community Based Marketing concepts, assigned Community details, key performance indicators (KPIs), and how they relate to Product Marketing Strategy
- Must be able to comprehend complex marketing plans, define, and identify KPIs, utilize relevant tools and technologies, and complete the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle for future campaigns
- Ability to build credibility and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to execute product strategy
- Thorough understanding of marketing metrics and analytics, proactive in analyzing performance and suggesting improvements, can apply strategic thinking, problem solving, and hypothesis-driven data analysis
- Demonstrated experience translating unstructured data into actionable insights for decision making
- Experience as a project lead or project management level role in a strategic product marketing or product strategy management work assignment
- Proven ability to effectively manage and steward marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize return on investment and achieve strategic objectives
- Experience in Microsoft Suite skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to manipulate and create pivot tables and functions for data-driven storytelling
- Strong communication skills and business acumen to understand corporate strategy and present actionable findings to management as a trusted subject matter expert
- Able to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team
- The ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
Added Bonus If You Have
- MBA or advanced business degree
- Automotive or high-tech product launch experience
- Relevant experience applying prominent marketing strategy models for a large global brand
- Familiarity with key automotive market data sources (examples: Maritz NVCS & NVAS, PIN, Polk Insight, JD Power studies, GfK studies, Tableau, etc.) or demonstrated competency to quickly learn and use these tools
- Experience in an environment where capable of both high-level strategic responsibilities and tactical tasks such as report creation and data analysis
