About the Role
As a QA Test Engineer on NCR Atleos's Professional Services team, you'll make sure our ATM software and hardware work as expected before they reach our banking customers. You'll spend most of your time doing hands-on manual testing on ATMs. You'll run real transactions like inserting a card, entering a PIN and withdrawing cash. You'll also check how the machine and software handle problems like cash jams, and confirm the right information reaches the backend systems. The team is starting to move toward automation, so you'll also get to help shape how we test going forward.
This role is a good fit for someone early in their career who already knows testing basics, is eager to learn, and is willing to go the extra mile. We'll train you on our ATM products and our business.
What You'll Do
- Run manual tests on ATM applications and hardware to make sure our solutions meet or exceed business requirements
- Check end-to-end transaction flows, including card, PIN and cash handling and error conditions, and confirm that the correct data reaches backend systems
- Design and run test cases based on business requirements and specifications
- Help the Test Lead or Project Manager with test planning and effort estimates
- Keep test logs, record test results and track progress against the test plan
- Find, document and report defects, and follow them through to resolution
- Take part in requirements and documentation reviews
- Work on-site with bank customers across the U.S., often for about a week at a time
- Work with developers and other test engineers to use good testing tools and practices
- Learn our ATM products, and share lessons learned and ideas for improvement with the project team
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of testing experience, including internships, co-ops or academic projects
- Working knowledge of software testing methods and the software testing life cycle, including Agile
- Basic computer science knowledge
- Hands-on experience testing hardware, software or both
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to travel up to 50% within the U.S. and work from customer locations
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Ability to handle several tasks at once and work well on a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ATMs, self-service devices or financial transaction systems (for example NCR, Diebold Nixdorf, Wincor or Hyosung)
- Experience testing devices that combine hardware and software
- Basic networking knowledge, such as TCP/IP, VPN, Wi-Fi, routers and Ethernet
- Experience with defect tracking or test management tools, such as Jira or Quality Center/ALM
