Operating at the forefront of aerospace and space, cybersecurity and digital identity, we’re driven by a mission to build a future we can all trust.

In Singapore, Thales has been a trusted partner since 1973, originally focused on aerospace activities in the Asia-Pacific region. With 2,000 employees across three local sites, we deliver cutting-edge solutions across aerospace (including air traffic management), defence and security, and digital identity and cybersecurity sectors. Together, we’re shaping the future by enabling customers to make pivotal decisions that safeguard communities and power progress.

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for driving manufacturing performance improvement through data analytics, process optimization, industrial engineering methodologies, operational analytics, and digitalization initiatives.

The position plays a key role in supporting factory performance management, enabling data-driven decision-making, standardizing manufacturing processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a 1-Year Fixed Term Employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production, quality, yield, downtime, and operational performance data to identify gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, process efficiency, product quality, and cost performance.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to investigate operational issues and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Implement, validate, and monitor process improvements to ensure measurable and sustainable performance gains.
  • Establish and standardize best practices, operating procedures, and performance measurement methods across manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct capacity analysis, workload assessments, line balancing studies, and resource utilization reviews to identify production constraints and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform time studies, work measurement, and productivity assessments to establish performance baselines and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.
  • Evaluate manpower requirements, equipment utilization, and production workflows to optimize resource allocation and manufacturing capacity.
  • Identify bottlenecks and constraints within production processes and recommend solutions to improve throughput and operational flow.
  • Support production planning and capacity expansion initiatives through data-driven analysis and scenario evaluation.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management reports to monitor manufacturing performance.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and visualize operational data to provide actionable insights and support timely, data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to identify performance trends, detect deviations, and track improvement results.
  • Support the digitalization and automation of manufacturing reporting, data collection, and performance monitoring processes.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably involving manufacturing performance improvement, industrial engineering, process optimization, or operational analytics.
  • Ability to structure dashboards and presentations to tell a clear data-driven story, highlighting performance trends, root causes, improvement opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering standards, project specifications, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience in data analysis, KPI development, performance reporting, or manufacturing digitalization is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools, such as Microsoft Power BI and Grafana.
  • Relevant certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering, or data analytics are an advantage.
