Billing Clerk / Accounting Clerk

Position Summary

The Billing Clerk position plays and important role in ensuring accurate accounting of the firm's accounts receivables. This position is involved and requires initiative, common sense, great attention to detail, teamwork, a willingness to adapt, data entry skills, and some customer service.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Accurate billing of the firm's clients in multiple formats and systems
• Accurate posting of client payments
• Coordinating and correcting bills and time entries with attorneys and other staff members
• Preparing attorney and management reports
• Training of new employees on time entry and billing systems
• Accurate trouble shooting both billing and payment issues
• Help with special projects as time and skills allow
• Other duties as assigned

• Typing speed of at least 35 wpm
• Experience with LMSV software is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

 

Qualifications

• Positive attitude
• 2+ years relevant work experience preferred
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred but not required

Applicants will be tested on skills necessary to perform the job as part of the in-person interview process. Testing will include (but may not be limited to) Excel skill level, typing speed, ten-key speed, basic accounting knowledge, and basic computer skills
