Description

Evinova is a health-tech business within the AstraZeneca Group, created to accelerate better health outcomes by driving digital transformation across the life sciences sector. We bring together science-based expertise, evidence-led rigor, and deep human insight to design digital solutions that help healthcare work better for everyone. Operating at the intersection of healthcare, technology, data, and analytics, we are changing how clinical research is conducted, how care is delivered, and how patients experience it, with solutions built to scale and to deliver better outcomes for patients worldwide.

We are driven by a shared purpose: to transform health through data and digital innovation. Our teams collaborate across fields to solve complex problems, continuously learning and evolving in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Evinova's portfolio — spanning AI-enabled study design, clinical document authoring, risk-based quality management, and intelligent monitoring — is changing how clinical trials are designed and delivered. But technology alone does not transform an organization; redesigned ways of working, confident people, and measurable adoption do.

We are seeking a Director, Clinical Development Change & Transformation Lead to drive the change management and adoption work that turns Evinova's solutions into new ways of working across clinical development — starting with AstraZeneca as our anchor partner and extending to the external sponsors and CROs we serve. Working within the transformation strategy and roadmap set by Evinova's Clinical Development Digital Innovation & Transformation leadership, you will lead the day-to-day delivery: redesigning processes with functional owners, preparing and equipping the workforce for change, and building the working relationships with Therapeutic Areas and Clinical Operations that turn deployment into real adoption and captured benefit.

You will be a visible, trusted presence on the ground in Gaithersburg — understanding the collaborator landscape, running rollout and readiness activities, keeping communication and governance cadences moving, and channelling frontline insight and new ideas back to our product teams. As our solutions mature, you will help turn what works into repeatable playbooks and results that support external customers on their own change journeys.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced change practitioner who combines clinical development fluency with practical transformation delivery — organized, independent amid ambiguity, credible with senior collaborators, and motivated by turning bold technology into real-world change.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Change & Adoption Delivery: Lead the delivery of change management and adoption plans for Evinova's AI-enabled solutions across clinical development, translating the transformation strategy and roadmap into actionable workstream plans, achievements, and deliverables.

  • Collaborator Engagement & Relationships: Build and maintain working relationships across Therapeutic Areas, Clinical Operations, and enabling functions (e.g., Biometrics, Regulatory, Medical Writing, Quality). Maintain the collaborator landscape map, act as a day-to-day point of contact for adoption, and prepare and support senior-level engagement where needed.
  • Process Redesign: Lead process redesign workshops with functional and process owners: document current-state workflows, co-design AI-enabled future-state ways of working, and drive the actions needed to transition, including inputs to the controlled procedure and training updates that a regulated environment requires.
  • Workforce Readiness & Capability Building: Deliver role and skills impact assessments, develop and run training and upskilling programs, and help embed responsible, compliant use of AI into daily work.
  • Rollout Execution: Manage rollout execution in partnership with Product, Delivery, and customer teams — wave plans, readiness assessments, training logistics, hypercare, and post-launch support — and track issues and risks through to closure.
  • Communications & Governance: Develop and run communication plans and engagement cadences across functions and sites, prepare executive updates and governance materials, and facilitate working groups and change forums.
  • Adoption Measurement & Benefits Tracking: Track adoption and value measures — utilization, cycle-time and effort reduction, time-to-value, and user happiness — build the associated reporting and dashboards, and contribute to benefits validation with Finance against the case.
  • Feedback Channels & Product Input: Run structured feedback channels — user advisory groups, voice-of-customer sessions, and adoption analytics — synthesize insight into prioritized recommendations and new ideas for Product, and support pilots and user validation of improvements before scaling.
  • Playbooks & External Customer Support: Contribute to and maintain transformation playbooks, toolkits, and deliverables, and support Commercial and Delivery teams in deploying them with external sponsors and CROs on their change journeys.
  • Change Champion Network: Build and mentor the change champion and practitioner network across the portfolio, and lead the matrixed or small-team resources assigned to change workstreams.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience
  • Significant experience delivering change management, transformation, or technology adoption programs within pharmaceutical R&D, biotech, or health technology.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development and Clinical Operations processes, roles, and difficulties — from protocol design through study conduct and close-out.
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI or digital solutions into ways of working, including impact assessments, process redesign, and training and capability building.
  • Strong customer management: credibility with Director- and Senior Director-level collaborators and the ability to influence across a matrixed, global organization.
  • Practical process redesign and facilitation skills (e.g., Lean, design thinking, or service design methodologies), with the ability to run workshops and produce clear current-state and future-state deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft change narratives, training content, and executive-ready updates.
  • Experience running feedback mechanisms and translating user insight into actionable recommendations.
  • Comfort defining and tracking adoption metrics and benefits, including building reporting and dashboards.
  • Organized, independent delivery: able to manage multiple workstreams amid ambiguity and competing priorities and drive issues to resolution.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within a SaaS, product-led, or digital health organization.
  • Formal change management certification (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR, ACMP CCMP).
  • Familiarity with GxP-regulated environments and clinical trial technologies (study design platforms, eCOA, RBQM, and monitoring solutions).
  • Experience supporting generative or agentic AI deployments in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience building and leading change champion networks or communities of practice.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles across sponsor, CRO, or vendor environments.
