Director, Strategic Sourcing
Role Summary
The Director, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading sourcing strategy, supplier management, and procurement execution for critical technology commodities supporting Hyve Solutions' hyperscale data center, AI infrastructure, and cloud computing platforms. This leadership role drives cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while supporting aggressive growth, NPI launches, and customer demand requirements. The Director will lead a team of sourcing professionals and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for strategic technology commodities including Servers, Networking, Optics, GPU, CPU, Memory, SSD, HDD, and related infrastructure components.
- Lead and mentor a team of Commodity Managers, Product Sourcing Managers, and Sourcing Specialists, ensuring high performance, accountability, and professional growth.
- Establish long-term supplier strategies focused on cost optimization, capacity assurance, supply continuity, technology roadmaps, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and commercial agreements to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Manage allocation challenges and constrained supply environments by coordinating supplier commitments, capacity planning, and escalation management.
- Partner with Engineering and Product teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI), product lifecycle management, and technology transitions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Manufacturing teams to ensure material availability and execution across global manufacturing locations.
- Lead executive-level supplier reviews and performance management processes using key metrics related to pricing, quality, delivery, capacity, and responsiveness.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies addressing tariffs, geopolitical impacts, trade compliance requirements, logistics disruptions, and supplier business continuity.
- Support supply localization initiatives and multi-region sourcing strategies to strengthen supply resilience.
- Monitor market intelligence, commodity trends, technology roadmaps, and industry dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
- Establish sourcing governance, KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and operational review cadences across sourcing functions.
- Present supply chain performance, cost reduction initiatives, allocation status, and business risks to executive leadership and customers as required.
- Lead large-scale spend management and cost reduction programs while balancing quality, service, and customer commitments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or supply chain experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing sourcing, commodity, or procurement teams.
- Deep knowledge of server, networking, storage, semiconductor, or data center infrastructure supply chains.
- Proven experience managing strategic suppliers and large annual spend portfolios.
- Strong negotiation, supplier development, and commercial management skills.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing or technology environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting hyperscale cloud, AI infrastructure, OEM, ODM, or data center environments.
- Knowledge of allocation-driven commodities such as GPU, CPU, Memory, Optics, and Networking hardware.
- Experience with global manufacturing operations and multi-region sourcing strategies.
- Familiarity with tariff mitigation, trade compliance, and global supply chain risk management.
- Experience supporting rapid NPI ramps, demand volatility, and customer-driven growth initiatives.

- Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $190,000-$220,000 annually.Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.
