Overview

Join the Market Data Feature Team responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting a key in‑house Market Data platform that stores, processes, and distributes internal and external market data across the Markets business. As a Support Engineer, you will work closely with development squads and Markets stakeholders, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of the platform.
The platform primarily leverages C#.NET, market data technologies, and OneTick for high‑performance data storage and analytics.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and enhance platform configuration and implement small functional changes using C# and related technologies.
• Support market data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance of real‑time and historical data flows.
• Work with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, UrbanCode) to strengthen and optimise build, deployment, and automation workflows.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and feature team to deliver incremental improvements using Agile practices.
• Operate as part of a cross‑functional engineering team, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, customer‑focused solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills and an understanding of front‑office requirements.
• Analyse the impact of system design decisions on scalability, resilience, and supportability.
• Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and observability using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Continuously upskill, embracing new technologies relevant to market data, data engineering, and cloud-based processing environments.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

Core Expertise

• Strong experience with C#.NET in a production or support environment.
• Solid understanding of Market Data concepts (pricing, reference data, real-time feeds, tick data).
• Prior front office application support experience in a financial markets environment.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring and operational tooling (Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud-hosted or virtualised systems (e.g., VMWare).
• Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycle—from design and build through to production operations.
• Advocate of Agile delivery and collaborative engineering culture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Advantageous

• Experience with OneTick (querying, configuring, or operating tick databases).
• Exposure to Bloomberg Data License, Refinitiv TREP, or other market data vendor technologies.
• Familiarity with Market Data business processes across Trading, Risk, or Pricing.
