Job Description

As a Security Officer Aviation Screening Technician in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government airport development location, you will help support a secure and welcoming environment by screening people and property, monitoring access points, and identifying potential security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and help maintain orderly operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and airport personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, accessible property, and designated entry points in accordance with established airport and government procedures.
• Monitor access to restricted and public areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access concerns or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate airport personnel and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned terminal, landside, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Guard card is required. 
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 21+ years of age for role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
