Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure & Security Operations Lead to take ownership of the day-to-day management, security and optimisation of its cloud ecosystem. This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on professional with experience in cloud operations, information security governance and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001. With a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), the successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining reliable infrastructure, strengthening security controls, supporting secure software deployments and driving continuous compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, IAM, storage and database services.
- Maintain infrastructure availability, disaster recovery readiness, automated backups and cloud cost efficiency.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex cloud infrastructure and security incidents.
- Support engineering teams with secure deployments through established SDLC processes and CI/CD pipelines.
- Act as a hands-on technical lead within the Information Security Management System (ISMS) environment.
- Support ISO 27001 compliance, including control enforcement, audit evidence, access reviews and compliance documentation.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, patch management and remediation across cloud environments.
- Monitor security platforms, logging and threat-management tools.
- Manage IAM, least-privilege access, VPC configurations, firewall policies and broader cloud security controls.
Requirements:
- Proven experience administering, maintaining and securing cloud infrastructure.
- Strong GCP experience is preferred, although solid AWS or Microsoft Azure experience will also be considered.
- Experience working within ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST or similar information security frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, vulnerability management and incident response.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or similar scripting and automation technologies.
- Exposure to cloud monitoring, logging and/or SIEM platforms.
- Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.'
- Strong attention to compliance, governance, documentation and operational processes.
- A pragmatic approach focused on security, stability, reliability and continuous improvement.
