Reporting to the Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance, the Supervisor - Fixed Plant Maintenance leads mechanical tradespeople, apprentices, and contractors in the safe and efficient delivery of planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance across the Blackwater Mine fixed plant. The role supports equipment availability and reliability through effective maintenance execution, workforce development, and continuous improvement.

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and enforce BW Gold safety standards, statutory requirements, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems; lead pre-start meetings and risk assessments.
- Supervise planned, preventative, and breakdown mechanical maintenance, coordinate emergency repairs, and support shutdown planning and execution.
- Deliver work to approved plans, schedules, and quality standards; ensure accurate work order completion in the maintenance management system.
- Lead, coach, and develop tradespeople and apprentices; manage performance, competencies, and the effective deployment of employees and contractors.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and equipment failures; support root cause analysis, defect elimination, and corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Coordinate with Planning, Reliability, Operations, and Warehouse teams on maintenance priorities, resources, and critical parts; assist with budgeting and resource forecasting.
- May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Mechanical trade qualification (Millwright), or Mechanical Engineering, Technician, or Technologist credentials.
- Minimum five years of maintenance experience in gold mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry, with demonstrated experience leading mechanical maintenance teams.
- Strong knowledge of crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens, stackers and reclaimers, gearboxes, rotating equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS platforms such as SAP, Pronto, or Maximo.
- Leadership and Management diploma, Reliability or Asset Management training, root cause analysis, shutdown experience, and gold mining supervisory experience are assets.
