Role summary:The Senior Systems and Infrastructure Engineer, Information Security, plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure solutions. This position involves developing modular system architectures, automating workflows, and ensuring disaster recovery readiness while adhering to security standards and compliance requirements. The role requires expertise in infrastructure performance optimization, configuration management, and risk assessment to support business objectives. The engineer collaborates with stakeholders to deliver resilient, efficient, and secure systems that align with organizational goals and evolving technology landscapes.
About the team:
The IS – Endpoint Security team at Walmart manages and secures a global endpoint fleet of millions of devices across stores, distribution centers, and corporate environments. The team develops software systems that enable fleet-wide visibility, automated remediation, compliance enforcement, and endpoint telemetry analysis. Operating at a large scale, the team prioritizes engineering quality and security outcomes. Members apply expertise in infrastructure security, scalability design, configuration management, disaster recovery, and automation to maintain robust and efficient systems that support Walmart’s global operations and safeguard critical technology assets.
What you'll do:
- Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements and security standards.
- Develop and maintain system security plans, conduct risk and compliance reviews to ensure robust protection.
- Automate routine infrastructure tasks using scripting and configuration management tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform infrastructure maintenance including backups, patch management, and performance monitoring to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate on requirement analysis, scoping, and solution design to address functional and non-functional needs.
- Manage capacity planning and optimize resource utilization to support current and future business demands.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, escalating as necessary to maintain service continuity.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in infrastructure security, scalability design, and configuration management.
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery planning and execution within complex systems.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline workflows.
- Ability to translate high-level designs into detailed, modular, and maintainable solutions.
- Familiarity with risk analysis, security frameworks, and compliance review processes.
- Skilled in infrastructure maintenance, including backups, patch management, and performance monitoring.
- Proficient in capacity management to optimize resource utilization and forecast needs.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills for issue resolution and escalation management.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
