Description
Our client is a well-regarded regional law firm with a significant Hong Kong presence, recognised for its strong contentious practice and deep expertise advising large PRC, Hong Kong and international corporates, as well as state-owned enterprises, on complex commercial disputes. The team is led by an experienced dispute resolution partner with a strong market reputation, acting for a broad range of clients across commercial (mainly non-financial) industries on high-value litigation and arbitration matters.
Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Dispute Resolution team and take a leading role in servicing a substantial and growing workload of commercial litigation matters. Responsibilities will include managing cases from inception through to trial and enforcement, conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, submissions and advice, running document disclosure and evidence-gathering exercises, liaising directly with clients, counsel and expert witnesses, and advising on dispute resolution strategy across litigation, arbitration and mediation. The successful candidate will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of matters with limited supervision, while mentoring and supervising more junior members of the team.
The successful candidate will have approximately 7 to 12 years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution, gained at a well-regarded law firm, with substantial experience acting for corporate clients, PRC or Hong Kong businesses, and/or state-owned enterprises on complex, high-value disputes. Financial services litigation experience is not required. Excellent drafting, analytical and client management skills are essential, along with fluency in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior litigator to take a leading role in a fast-growing, well-resourced and exceptionally busy dispute resolution practice with a very strong pipeline of complex commercial work.
