Job Summary
Creates hardware architectures for hardware products and provides technically feasible solutions that meet all stakeholder requirements while aligning with organizational capabilities. Defines balanced designs and scopes that integrate multiple perspectives, ensuring high quality and effective implementation throughout the architecture lifecycle.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Responsible for Mechanical System Design & Integration. Define, design, and develop new product solutions with innovative and cost-effective product architecture solutions. Conduct stress, thermal, and vibration analyses to validate design robustness.
- Ensure innovation & technology Leadership. Lead study on advanced materials, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies to enhance product performance. Drive innovation(with IP) while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Work closely with optical, electrical, and industrial design teams to ensure holistic product development. Provide technical guidance to suppliers and manufacturing partners for seamless production.
- Identify potential failure points through simulation and prototyping, recommending design improvements. Ensure designs meet durability, reliability, and sustainability targets.
- Create detailed technical specifications, drawings, and design guidelines for engineering teams. Present design rationale to stakeholders, balancing technical feasibility with business objectives.
- Develop new solutions, new architecture and/or enhance existing products. Uses analytical and systematic approach for optimal solution. Perform reality checks and appropriate testing. Ensure standardization within product platform and compliance to standards.
- Perform concept and feasibility studies, make innovation product architecture designs, analyze off-tool parts, support testing and define and execute feasibility projects for key technologies to enable luminaire product roadmap Drive risk mitigation by validating material choices and manufacturing processes.
- Act as a critical liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders, ensuring design decisions are evidence-based and compliant with evolving safety regulations.
- Build up Luminaire mechanics Architect competence, innovative on new material and new processing, Maintain and create product (cost, performance) roadmaps.
- Cooperate with team leaders, designers, optics, and electrical engineers to optimize design solutions. And it is also required for the employee to work closely with counter parts suppliers to realize design and solve issues during product release.
Critical Experiences
- Bachelor’s/master’s in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in mechanical design for lighting or consumer electronics.
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, Creo), FEA (ANSYS), and DFM principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with material selection.
- Rich experience on the cross-team collaboration with stakeholders and cross function team.
- Be creative, fast learning, willing to take on challenges and could quickly adapt to business growth.
- Good interpersonal skills: active, open, motivational style. Good communication skill in both English and Chinese.
