Position: Quality Inspector
Location: Auburrn, Washington
Duration: 90 days
Frequency: 40 hours per week
Compensation: $40/hr
Job Description: Seeking an experienced Aerospace Certified Inspector to be based on-site in support of a customer program in Auburn, WA. The successful candidate will have previous experience performing Level III inspection of against engineering drawings, purchase order requirements, applicable specifications and industry standards.
The support will primarily involve the inspection of seals and gaskets. OPSEC certified is required but considered advantageous rather than essential as CG is willing to train and certify on site.
The support will include:
- Visual inspection of seals and gaskets of different materials.
- Dimensional inspection using standard hand-held measurement equipment
- Verification of parts against engineering drawings, specifications and purchase order requirements
- Review of accompanying manufacturing and quality documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, routers, inspection records and material certifications
- Identification and documentation of non-conforming conditions
- Preparation of inspection reports and non-conformance reports, as required
- Recording inspection results and updating customer systems
- Liaising with customer quality and operational personnel regarding inspection findings
Experience requirements:
- Demonstrate evidence of more than 2-years in the last 5-years of aerospace experience and poses experience of working within an engineering environment for a minimum of 3 years.
- Demonstrable experience in the receiving or final inspection of precision components
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and purchase order requirements
- Good working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience using hand-held inspection equipment, including micrometers, vernier callipers, height gauges, bore gauges and thread gauges
- Experience inspecting detailed machined parts and components manufactured from a range of aerospace materials.
- Knowledge / experience of AS9100 and AS9102 standards highly advantageous
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment
