Accountant (12-Month Contract)

Overview

Are you an accounting professional with payroll experience looking for your next opportunity? Foot Locker Asia Pacific is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. 

 

In this role, you will be responsible for recording payroll-related activities in the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining reconciled accounts. You’ll partner closely with Workforce Management and cross-functional teams to support wage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end payroll closing activities and accruals 

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for payroll accounts 

• Deliver wage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis 

• Provide KPI reporting and payroll insights to business stakeholders 

• Calculate and reconcile bonus payments and wage-related costs 

• Support audits and ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls 

• Partner with HR, FP&A, Payroll Operations, and other teams on payroll matters 

• Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities 

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or financial analysis 

• Payroll accounting experience or strong understanding of payroll processes  

• Understanding of wage reporting and metric would be highly regarded  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience handling large data sets 

• Advanced Excel skills 

• Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented 

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
