Job Description:
The Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion equipment to produce quality products that meet production specifications, safety standards, and efficiency goals. This is a government regulated program and failure to comply with all rules, regulations and guidelines could result in a recall of product or the shutdown of this plant.
Job Duties:
Set up and operate extrusion equipment according to production specifications and work orders
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to temperature, speed, and pressure settings
Make informed decisions that may impact product quality, ensuring adherence to quality standards
Perform basic math calculations to complete production paperwork and make minor equipment adjustments
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues using sound judgment and mechanical aptitude
Read and interpret manuals, production documents, labels, and work instructions
Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accuracy
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support teams to ensure smooth operations
Follow HACCP and food safety standards (certification required or obtained on the job)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all safety procedures
Demonstrate mechanical inclination and problem-solving skills in daily operations
Exercise good judgment and common sense when addressing production or equipment concerns
Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
You will be required to work with little to no supervision.
You will be required to make decisions that could affect the quality of our product.
You will be required to do basic math to do paperwork and make minor adjustment to equipment.
Good communication skills
Mechanical inclination
Will be HACCP Certified
Must be able to work independently.
Use common sense to make sound judgment calls when needed.
Must have an aptitude for math and mechanics.
Must be able to read and understand manuals, blue prints, plant paperwork, labels, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing and able lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
The Team Member will stand extended periods up to 8 hours.
The Team Member will work in a cold and hot environments.
The Team Member will frequently bend, reach and move around equipment
The Team Member will use manual dexterity for operating machinery and handling products.
