Description
Join us as an Independent Price Verification Manager
- In this high-profile role, you’ll manage, supervise, and perform IPV (Independent Price Testing) activities and related requirements for NatWest Markets and other relevant entities
- We’ll expect you to make sure that Front Office-traded instruments are priced accurately and in line with models, methodologies, and regulatory requirements
- This is an opportunity to make an impact by taking ownership of supporting, training, and developing colleagues, including the provision of technical training across complex products and concepts
- We're offering this role at vice president level
What you'll do
As an Independent Price Verification Manager, you’ll own the production of critical IPV, PruVal, and associated processes, leading colleagues to deliver against stakeholder requirements and business strategy. We’ll also look to you to own, understand, and identify issues or concerns arising from trading activity, using multiple sources of information and strong relationships across the bank to mitigate risk, manage the IPV service, and lead a strong risk and control environment. Moreover, you’ll identify changes required across the work remit that will enhance the service and support the achievement of goals set for the wider function, such as through automation, the use of emerging technology, or cost reduction.
In addition, you’ll be:
- Accountable for the end-to-end IPV process for the desk or products assigned, coaching, checking, and training team members while promoting best practice and knowledge with colleagues
- Accountable for the effective design, operation, and evidencing of key controls within the area
- Accountable for the presentation of MI and other decision-making material to more senior colleagues and the service recipient, including coaching team members on style, content, and delivery
- Owning the resolution of data and other issues, and escalating them further where required, for example control weaknesses
- Accountable for addressing stakeholder queries and challenges related to the products covered, and for supporting colleagues in the timely management of the service
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with advanced Microsoft skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Co-Pilot, and supporting features such as SQL. You’ll also need to have advanced product knowledge covering instruments typically held on an investment bank's balance sheet, including exposure to multiple asset classes, FX products, bonds, repos, and related areas. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring a strong level of experience working in or supervising a Product Control, IPV, or similar function within a complex global bank.
In addition, you’ll need:
- At least twelve years of experience and a qualification in CA, MBA in Finance, CFA, B.Tech in Quants or Statistics or Bachelors in Mathematics or Statistics
- Understanding of fixed income, FX, xVA particularly FVA and CVA, equity derivative products, volatility surfaces, interest rate curve construction and Greeks
- Good understanding of market risk and the impact on product valuations
- Time management skills and ability to work under pressure
