A well-established independent accountancy practice in Harrogate is looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant or Accounts Senior to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practice professional who enjoys broad client exposure, hands-on accounting work, and a more relaxed, people-focused environment than many traditional firms offer.

The firm has built an excellent reputation for client service and works with a varied portfolio of businesses, offering exposure to more interesting and complex work rather than purely compliance-led assignments.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Accounts Manager and Practice leadership team, supporting a diverse client base across a broad range of accounting responsibilities including:

• Accounts production
• Corporate tax compliance
• VAT returns
• Higher-level bookkeeping work
• Occasional payroll support
• Client communication and relationship management

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple areas rather than specialising narrowly.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Accounts production experience
• Exposure to VAT and corporate tax work
• A well-rounded technical skillset
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• A reliable, team-oriented and approachable personality

The firm is open to candidates at semi senior or accounts senior level, including part-qualified ACA / ACCA professionals seeking further development.
