The opportunity
Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals to ensure efficient and effective operational procurement activities, supporting HITACHI ENERGY business objectives and supply chain optimization.
How you’ll make an impact
- Manage and mentor a team of procurement specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Oversee the end-to-end operational procurement process, including requisitioning, purchase order creation, expediting, and invoice resolution.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize delivery performance for assigned categories.
- Monitor key procurement metrics, analyze performance data, and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, logistics, finance, planning ) to understand their needs and ensure timely and effective supply.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, leveraging best practices and technology.
- Resolve complex supplier issues effectively and efficiently.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, ideally with 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in operational procurement within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices and supplier relationship management.
- Proficiency in SAP
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent are a plus.
- English on negotiation level, German should be B1
