Social Media & Marketing Specialist CITY OF FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA

Hiring Range: $19.65 - $21.62/hour Part-Time | Up to 28 hours a week Essential Work Serving Your Community!

 

What You’ll Do

Social Media and Digital Content Create and schedule social media content, draft captions and promotional messaging, monitor engagement and respond to comments or messages as directed, research current social media trends, and track basic analytics to help evaluate performance.	Photography, Video and Community Promotion Capture photos and videos at programs, events, and activities to support marketing and community outreach efforts, while collaborating with staff to develop engaging content that promotes Parks & Recreation programs and events.  Evening, weekend and holiday work will be required as needed for event and program support and promotion.
Graphic Design and Marketing Materials Create graphics, flyers, and promotional materials using Canva or similar design tools while supporting marketing campaigns, promotional projects, and consistent department branding.	Website and Communications Assist with updating website content and event calendars, preparing newsletters and other promotional communications, and supporting department marketing needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Advertising, Journalism, Business Administration, Media Studies or Hospitality and Event Management, or equivalent work experience.
• Valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver’s License.
