ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically minded individual to join our team as a Product Configuration Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for Planning activities for configuration in collaboration with Engineering, manufacturing, supply chain & procurement stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of product configuration management process (Preferably CM level II certification/ work experience). Hands on experience in Windchill PLM or any relevant PLM systems, Exposure to ISO/EIA or related configuration standards, good understanding of PLM-ERP tools functionalities
Key Responsibilities:
BOM Creation and Management
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed Bills of Materials for all products.
- Ensure that all components, sub-assemblies, and materials are correctly listed and categorized.
- Update BOMs as design changes, improvements, or corrections are made.
Collaboration with Design and Engineering Teams
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to understand product specifications and requirements.
- Ensure that BOMs align with the latest product designs and engineering drawings.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues between the BOM and design documents to relevant stakeholders.
Data Integrity and Documentation
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of BOM data within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Maintain thorough documentation of BOM revisions, changes, and approvals.
- Implement and manage a systematic approach to version control for BOMs
Change Management
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure all BOM updates are accurately reflected.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure changes are implemented smoothly and efficiently.
- Track and document the impact of changes on product cost, quality, and performance
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
- Bachelor's degree in Mechancial/Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in Product configuration management , Windchill BOM Management experience will be added advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools/software
