AFRC - Expediter/Chemical Tool Crib Attendant
Primary Function
The Parts Expediter acts as the liaison between air crews, projects, supply vendors, logistics, purchasing, and operations management to ensure a smooth flow of parts to the technical end-users. Communication with all parties is an essential part of the expediter role. Knowledge relevant to the parts for aircraft operations and maintenance, in addition to the procurement process is required.
The Tool/Chem Crib / HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) Attendant is responsible for the daily routine of issuing tools/parts and hazardous material. Must be capable of performing requisitioning, inventory control, storing, packaging, shipping, receiving, and cataloging required material in the support of aircraft operations. Responsible for the adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, and all other applicable Navy/Air Force and NASA Program requirements per Armstrong Safety (Code 700) checklists.
Essential Duties
- Coordinate and assist the movement of parts or hardware between supply vendors, customers, Parts Rooms, Logistics and maintenance.
- Perform off-site related services, when directed.
- Inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects, including Calibrated tools and equipment assigned to tool crib. Prepare written damage reports and disposal/turn-in documentation.
- Ensure aircraft-related chemicals issued and returned are properly documented in HMMS.
- Maintain the bench stock, tracking items issued, and determining low stock re-order quantity in accordance with NPR 4100.
- Stock, inventory, and track deployable HAZMAT kits before and after deployments.
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials.
- Manage HAZMAT chemicals to ensure common chemicals usage, shelf life and on hand stock is maintained to reduce waste and cost.
- Ensure that all HAZMAT containers are in good condition, kept closed and secured during storage, properly labeled, and segregated from incompatible materials.
- Inspect monthly and document, with provided checklist, all portable eyewash stations that are assigned to the Chemical/Tool crib. Ensure units are ready for deployment if needed.
- Update Safety Data Sheet binders on approved/updated chemicals as needed.
- Keep Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., ear plugs/hand sanitizers/eye saline bags) stocked at stations around the facility.
- Ensure that there is an attendant available to assist with the issuance of materials and chemicals, without interruption, from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM on regular workdays.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
- Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members.
- Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
- Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
- Ability to follow a process.
- Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
- Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista Solutions, LLC goals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Be capable of reading and interpreting all reports, directives, publications and manuals pertaining to assigned responsibilities.
- Be capable of lifting a minimum of 75 lbs.
Working Environment
A fast paced multi-tasking customer service oriented environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime may be required.
The pay rate for this position is $39.16 per hour
