The Senior Director, Data Science, leads the development and execution of advanced data strategies and machine learning solutions to drive business value across multiple domains. About the team:
The team leads strategic development for the Ambient First Mile ecosystem, focusing on Domestic and International supplier and seller First Mile injection. It drives inventory strategies across retail and omni-replenishment capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, the team leverages data strategy, machine learning, and business analysis to deliver impactful solutions. Members contribute to shaping innovative approaches that enhance operational efficiency and support Walmart’s growth. This group values clear communication, strategic thinking, and a commitment to excellence in advancing data-driven initiatives within a complex, dynamic environment.
What you'll do:

• Lead the development and execution of data science strategies aligned with business objectives to drive measurable value.
• Oversee design, testing, deployment, and scaling of advanced machine learning models and data-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into actionable data initiatives.
• Mentor and guide data science teams, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Drive innovation by integrating new analytical methods, tools, and technologies to enhance predictive capabilities.
• Ensure robust model validation, monitoring, and lifecycle management to maintain performance and reliability.
• Communicate insights effectively to influence decision-making and support strategic planning.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in data science, including advanced machine learning, statistical modeling, and analytical techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, and R for code development, testing, and deployment.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Expertise in data strategy, governance, and ecosystem management to maximize data value and scalability.
• Proven leadership in mentoring teams, managing stakeholders, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
• Skilled in data visualization tools and techniques to communicate insights effectively to cross functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to design, validate, and deploy predictive models ensuring accuracy and sustainability.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 7
years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science,
Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 9 years' experience in an analytics or related
field.
3 years' supervisory experience.
