Seasonal Laboratory & Quality Assurance Technician 1

Description

 The Seasonal Laboratory and Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for ensuring support to the Northern Laboratory Operations and Quality Assurance Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Confirming the Management System is implemented and followed.
• Perform 100% proof checks on daily paperwork for ISO compliance.
• Assist in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ELAP, GLP, USDA, FDA and any customer-specific requirements.
• Extensive database entry and support the laboratory operations by performing any administrative and clerical duties including customer certificates.
• Issue, tracking and maintain employee training records.
• Assist in internal environmental program i.e., trending data, and sampling.
• Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, and escorts visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Create FedEx label, request pickups, send samples and supplies via FedEx when needed.
• Support the laboratory by ordering supplies, creating, and closing POs.
• Assist Quality Assurance Department in supervising the quality sections of all Northern Safe Food Alliance laboratories- includes travel to other laboratory locations (Yuba City and Winters).
• Communicates with the Quality Assurance Department concerning any safety, quality, or technical problems.
• Assists in problem solving using Corrective Action and Preventative Action Procedures.
• Perform performance/maintenance verification on laboratory equipment.
• Employee has the responsibility for maintaining good safety and housekeeping practices throughout assigned area of responsibility.
• Support the laboratory operations and customers by picking up and dropping off samples and supplies, when needed. 
• Assist in internal and external audits.
• Confidence to communicate effectively in a team setting including managers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle conflict in a professional manner.
• Other laboratory tasks as needed
• Adaptability to learn tasks and processes.
• Assist in other assigned duties as needed

Pay rate: $20.00

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate Degree (AA or AS) with science background or equivalent preferred
• One to two years of related experience and/or training.
• ISO 17025 experience preferred.
• Highly organized, energetic, resourceful, and creative problem solver.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks at a time.
• Must have weekend and holiday availability.
• Ability to adapt and be flexible within a changing work environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Must be willing to travel.
