Summary:

Work with the GI physicians and PCPs to manage colo-rectal screening clinic and follow-up office visits as needed. Services include obtaining pertinent history, performing examinations, ordering and interpreting appropriate laboratory tests and prescribing appropriate medications and treatment

Job Description:

Practice Highlights

• 4-day work week
• 36 hours of direct patient care
• 4 hours of protected administrative time
• Up to 18 patients per day
• Autonomous practice with strong physician and interdisciplinary support
• Focus on preventive care and colorectal cancer screening

Position Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the Colorectal Screening Clinic
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients through evidence-based care
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, and imaging
• Provide patient and family education, counseling, and preventive health guidance
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Serve as a patient advocate and healthcare resource for individuals and families
• Participate in teaching, mentoring, and interdisciplinary consultation as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care excellence

Additional Job Description:

The minimum requirements are as follows:
For Nurse Practitioner - Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC or AANP certification required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required

For Physician Assistant - Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
