Supplier Quality Engineer

Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer. This is an onsite role, working M-F Daylight hours.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

## What you’ll do:

The successful candidate is responsible for the deployment of supplier development and improvement processes across the Eaton Missin Systems supply chain to achieve improvement in both quality and delivery performance and enhance supplier capabilities to meet future business needs.

In this function you will:

• Interface with engineering disciplines and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.

• Serve as the Quality representative on Material Review Boards (MRB), Integrated Product Teams (IPT), corrective action teams, and production support activities
• Monitor, analyze, and report supplier performance metrics (e.g., quality, delivery, responsiveness) and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement activities for underperforming suppliers.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality performance, reduce defects, and improve on-time delivery.
• Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
• Perform necessary tests with equipment and effectively document test results.
• Formulate or assist in the preparation, review, and approval (if applicable) of quality documents such as plans, policies, procedures, and reports.
• Participate in and/or perform various audits along with compiling corresponding reports when required.
• Manage customer, supplier, and internal communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring they are handled as required.
• Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of quality data.
• Document and report concerns via internal tracking methods including but not limited to nonconformance records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001), regulatory requirements, and customer-specific quality expectations.
• Support the adherence of business management system (BMS) processes by all functions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer’s expectations.

• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions utilizing disciplined problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) to ensure effective and sustainable resolution.
• Conduct supplier process, product, and system audits, including witnessing manufacturing and testing activities at supplier sites as required.

• Perform risk analyses and implement associated mitigations.

• Review and verify supplier qualification packages, First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP documentation, and customer approval packages as required.

• Review all customer/program deliverables/activities and verify for their completeness.

• Provide Quality Engineering support to production operations as needed.

## Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• 1+ year of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment (Internship/Co-Op experience included)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 70 miles of the Davenport, IA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years’ experience with AS9100/ISO9001, MIL-STD, ISO13485, or IATF 16949
• 1+ years’ experience with AS9145, AS9142, and AS9102
• 1+ years’ with Quality Management System (QMS) Auditing
• 1+ years’ experience with Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lifecycle Management (LCM) experience.
• 1+ years’ experience in reading and interpreting technical documents, including prints (GD&T), drawings, and engineering orders.
• Military aviation or aircraft modification experience
• ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Reliability Engineer
• Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is highly desired, including associated tools such as characteristics matrices, process flow diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
• Project/Program Management experience
• Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) experience.
