The Opportunity
We are seeking a Student Intern to support legal professionals working on matters related to natural gas pipeline operations and infrastructure development. This opportunity provides exposure to project development, transactional matters, and regulatory frameworks affecting the energy industry.
The Student Intern will gain practical experience conducting legal research, analyzing complex regulatory issues, and contributing to legal advice that supports business decision-making and operational objectives.

What you'll do
- Conduct legal research related to project development, transactional, environmental, and pipeline safety matters
- Analyze legal and regulatory issues related to the natural gas transportation industry
- Support work involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and other regulatory frameworks
- Prepare legal analyses, summaries, and advice for business clients
- Collaborate with legal professionals on active projects and business initiatives
- Review and evaluate legal and regulatory information to support decision-making
- Assist with the development of legal guidance and documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor degree program
- Completion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027
- Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term
- Completion of the second year of law school prior to the start of the work term
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with the natural gas transportation industry
- Knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulations and processes
- Knowledge of environmental law, pipeline safety law, or other energy regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting
- Exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
- Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities
- Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
