Job Description

Location: Topeka, KS (onsite)

Loan Support:

• Gather and organize documentation required for loan applications.
• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy.
• Follow up on outstanding documents and loan conditions.
• Coordinate inspections, appraisals, insurance requirements, and escrow-related activities.
• Assist with customer pre-qualification using Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
• Partner with processors, title companies, and other stakeholders to support timely loan closings.

Customer Service:

• Respond to customer questions regarding loan processes, products, and procedures.
• Communicate with customers, real estate professionals, and title partners throughout the loan process.
• Coordinate and schedule loan closings.

Administrative Support:

• Maintain loan and customer records within company systems.
• Assist with marketing and outreach efforts, including email and direct mail campaigns.
• Stay informed on mortgage products, industry developments, and market trends.
• Perform administrative duties such as correspondence, scheduling, data entry, and phone support.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Support team and departmental goals through collaboration and effective communication.
• Demonstrate Fairway's values through professional conduct, accountability, inclusivity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience Needed:

• At least 1 year of experience in mortgage lending, loan origination, sales support, or a related field.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound business decisions.
• Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Experience using Encompass or a similar loan origination system preferred.
• Retail mortgage origination experience preferred.
• Understanding of mortgage lending processes, regulations, and industry guidelines.
• Familiarity with conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs.
• Knowledge of mortgage-related concepts, including escrow, taxes, insurance, and closing documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with loan origination and business software applications.
