Mechanical Engineering Program Manager, Commercial Personal Systems

Job Summary
This role is responsible for shaping and maintaining system-level validation strategies that ensure product quality, performance, and market competitiveness. The position serves as a key connection point across engineering, quality, and product development teams, translating evolving product requirements into robust validation methodologies while leveraging competitive benchmarking and cost-performance insights to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the deep dive and revision of System Test Validation Plan (SVTP) requirements, leading cross-functional alignment across engineering, quality, and development partners to keep test criteria current with product positioning and competitive benchmarks.

  • Evaluate industry validation methodologies and competitor testing approaches to identify opportunities for strengthening product qualification strategies.

  • Analyze validation-related cost structures, performance metrics, and benchmark data to assess product competitiveness and improvement opportunities.

  • Recommend enhancements to validation plans by balancing product performance, reliability, customer experience, and development efficiency considerations.

  • Drive data-based decision making through validation results analysis and communicate recommendations to stakeholders across multiple functions.

  • Coordinate cross-functional discussions across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product development teams to establish and maintain validation criteria.


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, implementation across hardware development lifecycle, or a related field.

  • Experience developing, executing, or managing product validation, reliability testing, qualification programs, or system verification activities.

  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into structured test and validation strategies.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to achieve alignment on technical objectives and requirements.
