Position Summary
The Senior Director, Product Strategy & Management is responsible for the strategy, development, management, performance, and growth of Evernorth's affordability, value-based, and utilization management solution portfolio.
This leader will oversee a portfolio of market-leading solutions focused on specialty affordability, value-based programs, utilization management innovation, automation, and clinical cost management. The role is accountable for end-to-end product ownership, including strategic planning, roadmap development, solution performance, pricing strategy, commercialization support, operational governance, vendor management, and ongoing product evolution.
As a member of the Product organization, this individual will translate business opportunities and market needs into scalable solutions that improve affordability, predictability, and health outcomes while driving product growth and enterprise value. The Senior Director will collaborate extensively across Product, Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Underwriting, Analytics, Operations, Technology, Clinical, and Finance organizations to ensure solutions deliver measurable value to clients, members, and the business.
This leader will manage a team of product managers and business professionals responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling innovative affordability and value-based solutions.
Essential Functions
Product Strategy & Management
- Own the strategic direction, roadmap, performance, and growth strategy for a portfolio of affordability and value-based solutions.
- Develop and execute multi-year product strategies aligned to business objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify product enhancements, new capabilities, and expansion opportunities to strengthen solution performance and market differentiation.
- Establish performance metrics, growth objectives, and accountability frameworks across the portfolio.
- Lead business case development, investment planning, and prioritization activities.
Value-Based Programs & Contracting
- Lead the development, management, and evolution of value-based and outcomes-oriented solutions.
- Evaluate innovative reimbursement, performance-based, and risk-sharing opportunities.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to establish performance measurement frameworks and value realization strategies.
- Monitor solution effectiveness and recommend enhancements to improve client and business outcomes.
Appropriate Prescribing (Simply Save) Strategy & Management
- Own strategy, governance, roadmap development, and ongoing optimization of Appropriate Prescribing solutions.
- Evaluate performance and identify opportunities for increased affordability, provider engagement, and client value.
- Develop new use cases, intervention strategies, and solution enhancements.
- Ensure operational execution aligns with strategic and financial goals.
Utilization Management Automation & Operations
- Lead strategy and governance for utilization management modernization initiatives.
- Drive automation, operational efficiency, and scalability across utilization management solutions.
- Partner with technology, analytics, and operations teams to implement new capabilities and process improvements.
- Establish operational performance standards and success metrics.
Product Commercialization & Market Enablement
- Support go-to-market strategies and commercialization efforts for new and existing solutions.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Account Management teams to develop product positioning, sales enablement materials, and client-facing value propositions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in client meetings, finalist presentations, and executive discussions.
- Ensure solution messaging clearly communicates business value, affordability impact, and competitive differentiation.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead highly complex initiatives across matrixed organizations.
- Build alignment among senior stakeholders and business partners.
- Establish governance structures, operating models, and prioritization processes.
- Present strategic recommendations, product performance updates, and growth opportunities to executive leadership.
- Foster collaboration across Product, Clinical, Analytics, Operations, Technology, and Commercial teams.
Financial Performance & Portfolio Growth
- Share accountability for product growth, solution performance, earnings contribution, and return on investment.
- Support pricing strategy, forecasting, business planning, and investment decisions.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to enhance profitability and market adoption.
- Ensure solutions deliver measurable financial and operational value.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy benefits, managed care, healthcare technology, consulting, product management, business strategy, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading product strategy, product management, commercialization, business operations, or large-scale strategic initiatives.
- Strong understanding of healthcare economics, affordability solutions, utilization management, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare benefit design.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive measurable business growth and client value.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives in matrixed organizations.
- Strong financial, analytical, strategic, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA, MPH, MHA, MS, or other advanced degree preferred.
