We are looking for a Material Planner to join our Mesoandean Crop Protection Supply Chain team.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and managing the supply of raw materials, co-formulants, packaging materials, and semi-finished goods required to support production activities. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability, optimize inventory levels, and maintain an efficient balance between supply and demand.
Responsibilities
• Create, validate, and maintain material plans aligned with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Ensure the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity and quality, while optimizing inventory and storage costs.
• Develop and share demand forecasts for raw materials and packaging components with suppliers and confirm supply capabilities.
• Schedule and manage material deliveries according to existing contracts and purchase orders.
• Evaluate storage and distribution capacity requirements based on supplier lead times and production needs.
• Lead the resolution of short-term supply and demand imbalances affecting manufacturing operations.
• Identify and respond to raw material service or quality issues in collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement teams.
• Support supplier performance evaluations and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Execute disposition plans for non-productive materials and oversee the overall health of raw material and packaging inventories. ---Internal Use---
• Plan and coordinate the movement of sourced and in-process materials to ensure availability at the point of use.
• Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings and contribute to Supply Chain improvement and transformation projects.
• Maintain accurate material and supplier master data, including lead times, safety stock levels, lot sizes, and planning parameters.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions when discrepancies are identified.
• Analyze data and develop planning scenarios to support operational and business decision-making.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain, Materials Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, or related functions.
• Background in operational, tactical, and/or material planning activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ERP and planning systems, preferably SAP, APO, IBP, S&OP, BW, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of Artificial Intelligence tools and applications that enhance productivity and planning effectiveness.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities. • Advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency, with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Be based in Guadalajara, Mexico; Cartagena, Colombia; or Bogotá, Colombia. -- • Availability to work in a hybrid/flexible work model.
