Job Description Summary
Saint Leo University is seeking a highly motivated Classroom Technology Specialist to support, maintain, and enhance classroom, audiovisual, event, and collaboration technologies across campus. This position plays a critical role in ensuring faculty, staff, students, and guests have reliable access to technology that supports teaching, learning, meetings, and campus events.The successful candidate will possess strong technical and troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional technology support in a dynamic higher education environment.
This is an on-site position in St. Leo, Florida and is not eligible for remote work. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Saint Leo University does not provide visa sponsorship for this position, now or in the future.

Job Description
Classroom Technology Support
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot classroom technology systems.
- Support projectors, displays, interactive panels, audio systems, microphones, cameras, control systems, and related equipment.
- Respond to classroom technology incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance and technology inspections to ensure classroom readiness.
- Assist with classroom technology upgrades, deployments, and refresh projects.
Student and Staff Technology Support
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues involving computers, peripherals, software applications, printing, connectivity, and university technology resources.
- Assist users with account access, basic system navigation, and technology-related questions.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT teams while maintaining ownership and communication with the customer.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused support that promotes a positive technology experience across campus.
Audiovisual Support
- Support audiovisual equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces.
- Configure and troubleshoot sound systems, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, cameras, and display technologies.
- Assist with equipment inventory, lifecycle management, and replacement planning.
Video Conferencing and Collaboration Support
- Support Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and other collaboration technologies.
- Configure spaces for hybrid and virtual meetings.
- Troubleshoot audio, video, camera, control, and connectivity issues.
- Provide training and guidance to faculty and staff using collaboration technologies.
Digital Signage Administration
- Maintain and support campus digital signage systems.
- Troubleshoot signage hardware, media players, displays, and content delivery systems.
- Coordinate with university departments regarding content scheduling and display requirements.
Event Technology Support
- Provide technology support for university events, presentations, ceremonies, athletic events, and special programs.
- Set up, test, operate, troubleshoot, and tear down audiovisual equipment.
- Coordinate with event organizers to identify and meet technology requirements.
- Provide occasional evening or weekend support for scheduled events.
Documentation and Customer Service
- Maintain accurate equipment inventories, service records, and technical documentation.
- Create and update user guides, procedures, checklists, and technology instructions.
- Deliver responsive and professional customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
- Participate in technology projects and campus initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Audiovisual Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two years of experience supporting classroom technology, audiovisual systems, help desk operations, or related technologies.
- Experience supporting Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or comparable video conferencing platforms.
- Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment, digital displays, projectors, sound systems, computers, and related technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with users of varying technical skill levels.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport technology equipment throughout campus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, Audiovisual Technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting technology in a higher education environment.
- Experience administering or supporting digital signage platforms.
- Familiarity with AV and room-control platforms such as Extron, Crestron, Biamp, QSC, Shure, or similar technologies.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or related industry certification.
- Experience supporting ticketing systems and end-user technology services.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in classrooms, auditoriums, conference rooms, and event venues.
- Ability to walk frequently between campus buildings while transporting or supporting technology equipment.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support university events.
