Dave Hausbeck Trucking (DHT Group) is actively hiring an Advanced Diagnostic Technician for our main shop in Reese, Michigan on first shift.

This is a priority opening for DHT.

We're looking for an experienced technician who can take ownership of complex diagnostic problems across a Class 8 truck and work through them systematically to determine the root cause.

Engine. Electrical. Emissions. ABS. Braking. Electronic controls. Communication networks.

When a truck has a problem that isn't obvious, you're the technician we want helping lead the diagnosis and figuring out why.

Advanced Diagnostics. Root-Cause Troubleshooting.

You'll work on complex diagnostic problems across DHT's Class 8 fleet, using OEM diagnostic software, wiring diagrams, electronic service information, test equipment, experience, and systematic troubleshooting to identify the cause and determine the appropriate repair.

You'll also serve as a technical resource in the shop, helping other technicians work through difficult problems and develop stronger diagnostic skills.

What You'll Diagnose

• Class 8 engine performance and drivability concerns
• Electrical and electronic system faults
• Emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DPF, DEF and SCR
• ABS and electronically controlled braking systems
• Fault codes and warning-light concerns
• Communication and network issues
• Wiring, connectors, sensors, modules, and related electrical components
• Intermittent and difficult-to-reproduce problems
• Multi-system issues requiring advanced troubleshooting

What You'll Do

• Perform advanced diagnostics on Class 8 trucks and related systems
• Use OEM diagnostic software and electronic service information
• Perform electrical testing and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Apply systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Determine appropriate repair recommendations
• Verify completed repairs and confirm equipment is ready to return to service
• Maintain accurate diagnostic and repair documentation
• Provide technical guidance and diagnostic support to other technicians
• Help develop troubleshooting skills and share diagnostic knowledge across the shop

What We're Looking For

• Strong Class 8 truck diagnostic experience
• Advanced electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills
• Thorough understanding of diesel engine and aftertreatment systems
• Experience with diagnostic platforms such as Detroit DiagnosticLink and Cummins INSITE
• Familiarity with systems and diagnostic platforms from Bendix and WABCO
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical service information
• Strong systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Ability to diagnose intermittent and complex problems
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to support and mentor other technicians
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• ASE certifications preferred

First Shift | Reese, Michigan

This position is based at the DHT Main Shop in Reese, Michigan on first shift.

We're looking for the technician who enjoys the difficult problems—the intermittent fault, the electrical issue that doesn't immediately make sense, or the system problem that requires looking beyond the first code.
