ACNP Duties Include:

· Under the general supervision of a physician, provide care to hospital ICU patients using established protocols as required by   PMA and Hospital policy.

· Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations for critically ill adult patients.

· Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with acute, complex, and life-threatening conditions.

· Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, radiologic, and diagnostic studies.

· Prescribe medications, blood products, fluids, and other therapies within scope of practice.

· Perform invasive procedures

· Monitor ventilator management in collaboration with respiratory therapy and intensivists.

· Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized plans of care.

· Respond to rapid response and code blue activations as assigned.

· Provide consultation regarding critical care management.

· Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, prognosis, and goals of care.

· Collaborate with consulting specialists and ancillary services to coordinate patient care.

· Document patient assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.

· Ensure compliance with evidence-based practice guidelines, quality initiatives, and patient safety standards.

· Participate in quality improvement projects, peer review, and clinical education.

· Assist with discharge planning and transitions of care when appropriate.

· Maintain continuing education and competency requirements.

Requirements

Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP)

• Current, unrestricted California NP license ACNP preferred

• Current Board certification in relevant specialty

• Current DEA certificate without restriction

• ACLS required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abiliities

· Advanced knowledge of critical care medicine and pathophysiology.

· Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills.

· Ability to manage multiple critically ill patients simultaneously.

· Proficiency in interpreting ECGs, ABGs, imaging studies, and hemodynamic monitoring.

· Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

· Ability to perform under pressure in rapidly changing  clinical situations.

· Strong organizational and documentation skills.

· Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
