Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provide instruction for developmentally appropriate learning activities for ages 2-5.
• Effective verbal communication with parents and young children.
• Encourage children to participate in activities through positive reinforcement and follow program guidelines for disciplining children, parent communication, class format, etc.
• Create lesson plans to develop fine and gross motor activities.
• Contribute to program ideas for enhancing the curriculum, assist with material preparation.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
• Maintain class attendance records.
• Effectively communicate with Coordinator and other preschool instructors.
• Keep current in class trends.
• Perform First Aid if needed.• Be a strong communicator and class leader, providing a safe, fun, and challenging class for the participants.
• Certifications in Early Childhood preferred and/or teaching degree.
• Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
• Ability to provide an instructional and fun class environment.
• Ability to work assigned class schedule.
• Current certification in First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Wear appropriate City uniform.
• Adhere to and implement the City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures.

Program: Appletots Learning Center - Preschool
Employment Season: September – April
Thursday's 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Additional hours may be required
Work Location: Appleton City Center Studios
Education Level Required: High School Student or two years experience in the field.
Pay Grade: 3
